Nuclear Halo and Molecular States
Significant advances have been made in recent years in the exploration of clustering in light nuclei. This progress has arisen not only from the investigation of new systems , but also through the development and application of novel probes. This paper will briefly review selected topics concerning halo and molecular states in light nuclei through examples provided by the neutron-rich Be isotopes.
متن کاملElectronic Decay of Molecular Clusters : Non - Stationary States Computed
Cationic inner valence states of molecular clusters have recently been shown to decay via a novel intermolecular mechanism. To compute the lifetimes and energies of the non-stationary states, we advocate the strategy to use standard quantum chemistry procedures augmented by complex absorbing potentials. A new and eecient complex absorbing potential has been implemented to take the non-compact g...
متن کاملMolecular Detection of Gamma Coronaviruses in Bird Parks of Iran
Gamma Coronaviruses (GCoVs) are distributed worldwide, affecting a wide range of bird species, the beluga whale, and bottlenose dolphins. Because of the limited proofreading capability in the viral encoded polymerase, they emerge genetically diverse. There has been no molecular surveillance data to describe the epidemiology of GCOVs in avian species. The present study was conducted to detect GC...
متن کاملObservation of the Competitive Double-gamma Decay
The double-gamma decay is a rare electromagnetic process, where instead of a single photon two gammarays are emitted, each with a continuous energy spectrum. The sum energy of the two photons equals the transition energy. This process has so far only been observed for the decay of the first excited states of 16O, 40Ca and 90Zr [1,2], where the spin of the excited and the ground state is zero, a...
متن کاملNuclear matrix elements of ββ decay from β-decay data
The evaluation of the nuclear matrix elements (NME) of the twoneutrino double beta (2νββ) decay and neutrinoless double beta (0νββ) decay using the proton-neutron quasiparticle random-phase approximation (pnQRPA) is addressed. In particular, the extraction of a proper value of the proton-neutron particle-particle interaction parameter, gpp, of this theory is analyzed in detail. Evidence is show...
